POLAR

This series started with a trip to Iceland, where you can sit in hot pots. Hot pots are warm water pools in the outside air, either in nature or on rooftops. The swimmer in my illustration is sitting in one of these warm waters, however she’s sitting in a hot “pod”. A pod is a group of whales. I combined these two Iceland experiences in one illustration: seeing these gigantic animals in real life and bathing outside in the snow. The other two illustrations show colder adventures: swimming with penguins underneath the ice and piercing through the waves like a narwhal would. This series shows playing outside in the phenomenal polar regions.
