ACROBATS

Incredible how acrobats are able to use their bodies. This series is a tribute to these performers: the elegance of their body movements, their interaction with animals and their efforts to entertain the audience. You see an acrobat bending backwards to pick an apple whilst walking on a big red ball, acrobats dancing with live snakes and an acrobat stuck in between running zebras, while another one tries to pull him out. As a kid I loved the circus and I still enjoy looking at vintage photographs of circus artists. I love penciling them into my sketchbooks – I’ve added a journal page with examples in the last slide.
